Touch screen

While touch screens have been used in industrial applications for a long time, the technology first started reaching awareness of the general public through consumer products.

With years of experience as a manufacturer of control units, Hoffmann + Krippner brings the necessary know-how for the implementation of optimal solutions involving customized touch panels. Based on the application and operating environment, we provide respective advantages and disadvantages of the various touch technologies.

The continuously evolving “optical bonding” method by Hoffmann + Krippner also ensures brilliant image and clear view of important information during bonding of rigid surfaces, such as displays and touch screens. Bonded control panels using highly transparent liquid adhesive are robust for industrial and outdoor applications.

Which technology provides the best solution for you?

Not all touch screens are made the same. Although the iPhone applies to many consumers as a synonym for touch, there are many different options to be considered. Particularly in industrial applications, the various technologies should be looked at closely. The goal is to achieve various requirements in one solution, such as custom design, safe and reliable operation, technical characteristics, long-term availability and reasonable price.

A resistive technology might be the right choice for simple and effective touch panels. For industrial applications in harsh environments, where gloves are required, this type of operating unit is often preferred.

For elegant design and high-quality surfaces, the capacitive technology is recommended. Especially with visually high-quality applications, but also environments with high risk of vandalism, this technology is the primary choice.
